The most important part about any Short-form video is the hook. Can you capture a viewer immediately, or will they swipe away and keep doomscrolling lmao
I put together over 100 fill-in-the-blank hooks for Shorts, TikTok and Reels. I also added real links to TikToks that show each hook working, with views and how much of an outlier it was for that Creator too
Just swap the [brackets] for your own stuff. The more specific you get (real numbers, real names, your game), the better it converts imo.

How to use this
- pick the type that fits your video first, then the hook. so if it’s a challenge video then pick a hook from the challenges section (duh)
- match the first frame to the line to the line you’re saying. the first thing a viewer see should make sense with what you’re saying
- write a few versions, and see which you like most
- watch the examples. the hook is one thing but how it’s executed is what matters
Key lessons
- start at the interesting part. the best examples skip hellos, intros, context, and get straight into it
- leave open loops. every strong hook leaves exactly one question open (this is why people keep watching): will it work, what is it, who wins, is that true
- text on screen is a second hook: some viewers doom scroll with no sound on, idk why but they do lmao, so make sure you’re capturing them too
- call out a habit or belief. "stop saying hey guys", instead call out the viewer or make them interested. people stay to argue, or to see what happens.
- **difficulty levels and price gaps are self explanatory. ‘**easy, hard, impossible’ ‘$1 vs $1,000’ we’ve all seen those formats
- steal the pattern, not the topic. a cooking hook about order beating ingredients becomes a gaming hook about order beating gear. the shape travels, the topic doesn't have to. there's a whole section near the end stealing patterns from business, fitness, cooking, finance and study videos for exactly this
